Enterprise Architecture Development
The development of EAs has been driven by the need to manage the ever-increasing complexity of the modern enterprise.
JCSys develop EAs to record the objective of the enterprise and support decision making as the enterprise evolves, thereby providing a roadmap
for future capability deployment. Supporting all stages of the project lifecycle, the team can deliver EAs relating to all areas of the enterprise
from capability requirements through to solution delivery and sustainment.
Members of the EA team have supported projects for the
UK MoD ACCS IPT, SE&IG (formally the IA), Government
Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) and a variety of
of Major Defence Companies, such as; Raytheon, Thales etc.
The team has wide experience in developing EAs for Sweden’s Armed Forces who have
adopted MODAF as their framework of choice.
Recent EAs have included;
– Swedish Armed Forces Coalition Interoperability
– Swedish International Security Assistance Force
– Swedish Navy Visby Class Corvette
Current EA development work;
– Nordic Battle Group ’11
– Swedish Close Air Support
In addition to capturing information from policy, standards, procedures, concepts & doctrine, the JCSys team has significant experience
of developing EAs within a ‘live’ workshop environment. Interfacing with military SMEs
from a wide variety of roles and backgrounds, our consultants are able to ellicit information and populate EA models
with authoritative information set in the correct context. Both our EA team and our clients place valuable importance on the rich discussions
and information gained from this type of approach.
JCsys Ltd Consultants have also developed a number of bespoke data capture mechanisms for situations when a ‘live’ workshop is not always practical,
using standard office tools and Application Programming Interface (API) Add-Ins to achieve greater efficiencies for model development,
maximising the re-use of information across programmes.
The JCSys EA team is also adept
at developing tailored EAs to support focussed investigations within a specific problem space, such as; Information Exchange Requirement
(IER) capture and analysis and communications media specifications.
Working closely with the JCSys Communication & Tactical Data Link Services Business Unit we are ideally placed
to support traceability and interoperability assurance from capability requirements through IERs to communication media specification.
JCSys Ltd employs a variety of toolsets
including MooD Business
Architect (TSorg), Enterprise Architect (Sparx)
and System Architect (IBM). However, our
ethos is to utilise the most appropriate toolset,
or combination of tools, for a particular project
in order to most effectively meet our client's needs.
