BMD Consultancy & Advice

The past two decades have seen the increased proliferation of Ballistic Missiles throughout the world, along with advances in propulsion, targeting and warhead technology. Whilst the detection, interception and destruction of such missiles presents immense technical challenges to any defence, great strides have been made in C2, sensor and weapon systems designed to counter the Ballistic Missile threat.

Systems such as THAAD, AEGIS BMD and PATRIOT are now being deployed operationally and new systems are in active development such as NATO’s ALTBMD programme, MBDA’s ASTER NT missile, BAES EWACS 14000 radar. The challenge now is to ensure that these diverse systems from different nations join together to form an effective, integrated and layered defence.
